A research group led by Professor Katayama of the Liberal Arts Center has succeeded in synthesizing a functional cyclic glycopeptide that is key to next-generation biopharmaceuticals.

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, Hidekazu Katayama, Professor the Teikyo University Liberal Arts Center, in collaboration with Osamu Kanie, Professor at the Tokai University Faculty of Engineering Department of Bioengineering, succeeded in synthesizing a cyclic peptide consisting of 28 amino acids and confirmed that it has a certain degree of macrophage activation ability.

The results of this research were published in the online express edition of the Journal of the American Chemical Society on Friday, March 14, 2025 (Eastern Time).
