On Saturday, July 5, 2025, a Borussia Dortmund Soccer Clinic One-Day Training Camp was held at Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus for fifth and sixth grade elementary school students from Hachioji, Hino, and Tama. This event was held as part of the "TEIKYO Multi-Sports Carnival," organized by the university's Sports Bureau, which provides opportunities to experience and enjoy sports.
Our university and Borussia Dortmund (BVB) signed an academic research partnership agreement in June 2018, and this project marks the third time it has been held.
On the day, 62 elementary school students took part, receiving direct instruction from BVB's German coaches, resulting in a soccer clinic that faithfully embodied the BVB training method. Participants commented, "The training methods from the German coaches were unique and fun," and "The training content was different from usual and required a lot of thinking, so it was fun," making it a fulfilling day. Students from the seminar of Associate Professor Aoki Masaaki of the Department of Business Administration Faculty of Economics, also participated, helping to ensure the clinic ran smoothly by providing assistance during training and preparing equipment.
Through this academic and research partnership with Borussia Dortmund (BVB), our university will continue to further enhance its education, research, and social contribution activities, centered on Practical learning, International perspectives, and Open mindedness.
